Fun Helps Prepare For Holiday Magic! -- December
2000
"Pierced
nips ring, are they stinging? In the clubs, hot men glistening!
A beautiful sight, I'm prowling tonight, working through Long
Island's HOT MAN LAND!" I
love making up my own lyrics, don't you? Priscilla is wrapping
her presents, writing cards and singing Christmas carols.
The holidays are here and it's my favorite time of year. If
I could, I would wear a hat made of mistletoe so all the hottie,
cuties could kiss me 24/7.
November
was a busy month. Saturday, Nov. 11, The
Long Island Bears hosted their Mr. Long Island
Bear 2000 contest at The Eagle. Those hunky, hairy
studs know how to strut their stuff. The place was packed
and looked like the showroom window of a fur salon. "I'm
just wild about HAIRY!!!" Contestants competed
in "Interview" "Bears In Boxers" and "Fantasy
Bear Wear" segments. OOH-LA-LA!!!! Hubba, hubba! Smokey
The Bear's motto, "Only you can prevent forest fires!"
kept running through my brain. Someone spilled water on me
and doused my fire! Fabrizio saved me just in time from hunting
down Dwane Porter, Mr. Long Island Bear 2000. Join
these furry men for their next night of fun at the Farmingdale
Multiplex on Tuesday, December 12. The movie will be picked
that night. Give them a giant bear hug from me!
The
LI Ravens M.C. just hosted Mr. Leather 2000
at The Eagle and Eric Ringer won the title.
Eric looked mighty fine in his leather duds and will represent
the leather community proudly this coming year. I looked around
at all those men in their leather gear and my mind whipped
itself into a frenzy with all the possibilities. These leather
gods also host a TOYS FOR TOTS campaign. Bring a toy
to The Eagle on Saturday night, December 16 at 9 PM.
Please help bring a little holiday joy and magic to those
children infected and affected by HIV/AIDS. Priscilla will
be there with bells on and I expect to see a large turnout
with toys for all the little cuties! Santa needs your help
so join the LI Ravens and make this event special!
KUDOS
and Congratulations to The
Community House of Long Island, 751 Long Island Avenue
in Deer Park. Permits are secure and the place looks wonderful.
The LI GLBT community should stop by and see what services/events
are offered. Some cute bric-a-brac here and there and CHOLI
can be simply FABOO! If you have any Pride paraphernalia
or
some artsy items, contact them and I am sure they would gladly
accept the donation. Their events calendar is filling up
so
call them at (631) 242-9727. I know they have CHOLI Video
Nights the 2nd and 4th Friday of every
month. I attended their 3rd Annual Long
Island Gay and Lesbian Film Festival at the Huntington
Cinema
Arts Centre on November 18. It rivaled any premiere
I ever attended! The choices of films one could see offered
a wide variety of tastes from the Living
With Pride: Ruth Ellis at 100 to Leather
Jacket Love Story, from Transsexual Menace
to Chutney
Popcorn and of course the unedited episodes of Queer
As Folk from the UK. Those fabulous friends from
The Thatched Cottage prepared a wonderful continental
breakfast and scrumptious lunch. To all the CHOLI members
involved I
applaud your successful fundraising event!
News
Flash:
Elegant Evening attended by 450 LI GLBTs and the buzzword
was FUN!
From Armani to Randolph Duke, from Burberry to Halston
and all the Ferrgamo shoe-wear in between, the 5th
Annual Winter Ball feted by the Long
Island Pride Parade Committee was a veritable fashion
extravaganza! The West Lake Inn played host once again to
450 attendees. The food, the ambiance and DJ Denise made for
a simply spectacular affair. The sequins and glitz, the tuxedos
and elegant attire worn by all made me teary, since it's not
often we see each other in such fabulous finery. My gown of
course was an exclusive Dulce and Cabana (Dolce and Gabbana's
naughty alter egos). What they do with tent fabric is so sweet.
I was a vision in my white striped gown slit up the front,
with emphasis on the shoulders in a two-tier design, while
the hat came to a point with a sheer train fabric out of the
top. I don't why a couple passing by said, "Hey Pris,
did you put on some pounds or is that a beach boy under that
fabric?" I looked chic and so did the other 449 guests!
Jim and the Parade Committee helped usher in the 2000 Holiday
season with a fun-filled, elegant party! Smooches darlings,
you did it again.
Priscilla
says Happy Holidays to all and have a Happy, Sexy, Safe New
Year's Eve!
Ta-ta
till next year!
