Priscilla's
Winter Wonderland! February 2001
The holiday season is over and Santa has come and gone, but
not before Priscilla had some Christmas Eve fun. When that
hunk of burning love whooshed down my chimney, well let's
just say Priscilla put new meaning to the phrase, "Ho,
Ho, Ho!!!" Catch my drift dearies? I got what I asked
for and more. Santa took me in his sleigh (now get your minds
out of the gutter) to all the GLBT bars and their decorations
were simply divine. I wished all the staff Happy Holidays
from Priscilla and her readers! Each bar was filled with such
Festive holiday spirit. Happy New Year to all and may this
year be filled with health, wealth and a lotta love!
I
just have to mention Peter Barnett from Blanche's!
He is just so cute and is managing things so well for Kevin.
The special nights and fun things Peter plans are just right.
Of course Priscilla always attends Blanche's Super Bowl soiree
and this year was no exception. I never saw so many gay men
getting into football before and then it dawned on me... the
tight jerseys, the huddle and all those wide receivers...
no wonder the bar was packed. Well Peter, you did it again.
The party was Faboo!
Auntie
M's boys did it again! Miss Auntie M's 2001 Pageant
took place Sunday, January 14, with all proceeds benefiting
AIDS
Care, Inc. All eyes were on the Huntington Town House
that night and the staff came through for the GLBT community.
About 100-125 people attended an elegant night filled with
fabulous food and drink. The pressure was on the 12 haute
couture contestants. Backstage was a flurry of wigs, makeup
and hairspray. The votes counted and the audience waited with
bated breath to find out that Mirkala
Crystal was crowned MISS AUNTIE M's 2001 and
the 1st Runner Up went to Dallas
Capri! The evening's hostess extraordinaire was Venise
Charles, Long Island's Latin Diva and Miss Long Gay Pride
2001. Venise electrifies a crowd and gets the energy pumping
like no other drag sister can, and Long Island is proud to
claim her as our own! You go girl, smooches to all for another
fabulous event.
I
stopped into CHOLI
(Community House of Long Island - ed.) last month
to wish all a happy holiday season and ran into the cutest
group
of young
people
from OUT
IN LI.
The members of this 20-something plus social and issues
group
for GLBTs and their friends are so cute and exciting to be
around. They radiate such positive energy. Listen, give
their
web site a visit, www.OUTINLI.org,
or contact via email at OUTINLI@aol.com
for information on their upcoming events.
Priscilla
has engagement news to share! Christmas morning found
me noshing on a chocolate croissant or two while browsing
through my Big, Bad, Bodacious Beachwear catalogues
for some new cruise wear. I was about to order the lovely
"Color Me Big" two-piece stretch ensemble when the
doorbell rang. My dear, sweet friend and Italian hunk Joey
Ponzo and his tall, hunky Latin lover Ray Figueroa
came by to wish me a Merry Christmas. They looked like the
proverbial "cat that swallowed the canary." I was
about to ask what's going on when Ray sticks out his left
hand. His ring finger is sportin' the most gorgeous engagement
ring Priscilla has seen in years. I scream, Ray screams and
Joe is looking at us like we're both crazy! The commitment
ceremony will take place in Spring 2002 and promises to be
the event of the season. They are such a cute couple. I am
still weeping with joy when I think about those two lovebirds.
Priscilla
is saying ta-ta for now and reminds everyone to watch out
for Cupid's love arrows I am sending your way this February
14.
Kisses!
