Spring
Planting For Summer Blossoms! --
April 2001
Dear Diary,
I just returned from my annual WORLDWIDE whirlwind-shopping
spree! Fabrizio and I did it all, from London to Greece and
Asia too. I have so many soirees to attend this spring and
of course there is my Fire Island jaunt. I needed so many
new things.
For
Cupid's Day I went with sumptuous red crap de sheen from the
house of Itzak Misery, Isaac Mizrahi's evil twin. Fabrizio
whisked me from bar to bar and the parties were divine at
Club 608,
Auntie M's, The
Bunkhouse and ForeverGreen.
Speaking of Camille, she
is busy planning her Breast Cancer Fundraiser -- October 5th & 6th.
I heard a little rumor that the Oct. 5 auction will include
an ovation guitar with Melissa Etheridge's signature. I will
be there in best country outfit a-biddin' and a-dancin'!
ForeverGreen's just hosted Ian Crawford's "Stuck
In the 70's" night on February 23 with attendance over
100. Ian is so busy! He hosted a VH-1 Name That Video show
and has a book of poetry published, "CATION." It's
Greek for positive energy with negative tendencies. Now all
you boys better run out and buy a copy at your local bookstore.
It's on the bottom shelf.
The
Drag Invasion held February 24 was simply divine. My
sister, Venise
Charles, hosted a splendid night of elegance and fun!
Kudos to all who attended. Unfortunately I was unable to attend
as I represented Long
Island Pride Parade at the North East
Regional Pride Conference in Providence, Rhode Island that
same weekend. Those New England Pride boys and girls host
a mean conference and dinner parties. I looked faboo in my
tribute to Carmen Miranda in an ensemble designed by Oleg
Casino. I put new meaning to the phrase, "...above thy
fruited plain..."
Oh
Diary, March 17, St. Patty's Day!!! What a night. I started
at the Sayville VFW for the Long
Island Pride Parade dance and ended up at Thunders.
I danced the night away! So many men wanted to show me their "frosted lucky charms".
I never kiss and tell but their corned beef was mighty fine but their
potatoes needed some work, if you catch my drift. My new outfit
from Wonderful Wraps in the UK caused quite a commotion.
It was a lovely Sari made from clear, green plastic with
a cinched belt around the waist. I always say, "What
you see, is what you get!"
I
ran into James Gale and Greg Noone from Thursday's
Child last week. They are such cuties!
Anyway, I must remember to send in my check for $100. Here's
the dish: Thursday's Child has 100 tickets available for $100
each. The total purse will be $10,000. OOOH, that's a lot
of money, honeys! They are dubbing it a GIANT 50/50!
The purse is split with Thursday's Child getting $5,000 while
first prize is $3,000, second prize is $1,500 and third prize
is $500. Winning tickets will be drawn at the Long
Island Pride Parade Festival In The Park on Sunday, June
10 in Huntington. Contact Linda at Thursday's
Child via phone (631) 447-5044 or stop by their office at
80 Terry Street, Patchogue. Credit cards are accepted! Help
support this worthy group. They provide education, outreach
and mostly housing for individuals and families who are living
with or affected by HIV/AIDS. Thursday's Child could use
your helping hands as volunteers, so give them a call or
drop by on the 2nd Tuesday evening of the month to the
Patchogue address at 7:15 PM.
Another
important date for you all to remember is 9 PM Friday, April
20 at Club
608. This will mark the return of the
Dynamic Duo, Carmella Boom-Boom and Banker John. Oh that John
is so cute. He is a member of the Club 608 A List. These boys
get together every 3rd weekend of the month and
cook a scrumptious dinner. The last dinner party used up the
last of their turkeys and they are now moving on to ham! I
don't how they do it but their main course is always moist
and juicy. I attended the last one in Babylon and had a marvelous
time. I wore a simple pants suit from Big In The Business,
a New York chic shop on 7th Avenue. If you're lucky,
you may get an invite to the next one, only if you show up
at Club 608 and say the secret password. Now, I am not a kiss
and tell kind-a gal! You'll have to figure this one out for
yourselves!
Ta-ta for now! Priscilla
