Fa La La, La La La, La, La,La! If we keep eating we'll only

Priscilla
is wishing all her Long Island GLBT friends a very
there
are so many celebrations that to name them I just know
I would forget one. So to be truly PC, HAPPY HOLIDAYS!
May 2002 be happy, healthy and a good year for us all!
I
attended some faboo events so far this month to kick off the
holiday season. First there was Long
Island Pride Parade Inc. 6th Annual Winter
Ball. The Executive Board and Volunteers hosted a simply marvelous
night where one ran into such Long Island luminaries Jon
Cooper, Maxine Postal, Helen
of Club 608, David Kilmnick of LIGALY,
Al Lawrence of The L.I. Eagle, Dee Petersen,
The New Century Singers, Larry/Michael/Eugene
of The Bunkhouse and Top of The Bay, Tommy
from Thunders,
Auntie M's hotties,
Kevin and the Blanche
crowd, Forevergreen's
gals, Paul Paquette and the Suffolk Gay Men's Group
as well as Gay Men's Starting OUT Group, members from
GOLD,
The
Long Island Lesbian publisher/editor Ms. Veronica
Philips-Moreno and Bill Heftner publisher
of PM
Plus Entertainment magazine. There were scads more
of the in-the-know Long Island GLBT crowd. It was a veritable
'Who's Who.' The Parade Committee hosted another successful
community event that kicked off the holiday season beautifully.
Congrats to all who planned and worked on this event. Also,
I want to send big hugs and kisses to that DIVA spinning the
tunes, DJ Denise of Twisted Dee Productions Inc.
She had everyone on their feet dancin' and groovin' to the
latest tunes, some golden oldies, some snappy disco, some
hot salsa, some country and many more! You go girl! Of course
I was smashing in my latest plaid creation by Uno Gallono.
Anyone following fashion knows that plaid is the in trend
right now. Gallono split from his cousin's house John Galliano
when John simply refused to make his designs for any full-figured
gals. We don't have to worry as Gallono took care of that.
As his cousin Galliano's work was inspired by Roman Catholic
architecture, Gallono's inspiration came from the Taj Mahal,
big and beautiful. You go Uno!
Speaking
of PM
Plus Entertainment magazine, it's my other home! That's
right I am in print once more. It's fun to be able to reach
two audiences, one in print and one here on-line. Oh of course
some of you get me in both venues and you are my most devoted
fans. Well, just know that Priscilla will never let you down.
I will always be as fresh and vibrant as ever with very little
if any crossover story lines. Bill Heftner and his staff are
just so adorable and have made it possible for me to reach
another segment of the Long Island GLBT population with no
strings attached. So, when you're out at your local watering
hole, pick up the December issue and check me out. That's
if you can take your eyes away from the cover
HOT, HOT,
HOT!
The Long
Island Ravens M.C. hosted their annual 'Toys
For Tots' campaign once again on December 15th
at The L.I.
Eagle. It was a fun evening. Those leather boys
can whip a celebration together and make sure all the attendees
snap to, if you catch my drift. John Dietz is one of the hottest
and most sincere men I know. He grabbed me at the Winter Ball
and spun me around the dance floor and then he grabbed me
at The Eagle and made sure I handed in my toys before he offered
me one his. John you minx! Well, Priscilla says "catch
me, catch me." I know I'm supposed to be running as I
say that, but in John's case I'll just stand still. Look for
more about the Ravens in my next article.
Those
hotties at Auntie
M's are busy planning their March event to benefit
Auntie
M's Helping Hands Inc., founded to help those smaller
organizations that are not fully funded by the government
to raise money for charitable causes. I hear the 2002 event
will be bigger than ever! There will drag performances headlines
by none other than Miss Long Island herself, Mirkala Cristal.
She is also the current Miss Auntie M's and puts on show that
is hotter than hot and newer than new. I have never seen her
do the same routine twice; she is always so fresh and au courant!
The March 2002 event at the Vanderbilt is being planned as
we speak. So contact them at (516) 679-8820 or email them
at helpinghand@auntiemzs.com
for the details.
I
was talking to GOLD members at the Winter Ball and
these gals are just too divine. They hold discussion groups
with very pertinent topics. GOLD Greater Older Lesbian
Discussions is relatively new but provide much needed
support. So if you are an on-line lesbian you should check
them out at www.golddiscussions.com
and pass the information along to friends who may need a friend!
EXTRA!
EXTRA! TEDDY BEARS FOR KIDS
I received this wire and wanted to make sure you all knew
about this worthy cause. It is running until December 31,
2001. Guy LeHoux originated the idea and went around collecting
money and bought teddy bears. He distributed the fuzzy, stuffed
cuties to children afflicted with HIV/AIDS and Terminal Illnesses
to Long Island hospitals! Guy is retired and moved to sunny
Florida but last year's helper, Charles (Chuck) Galatro, Jr.
is taking up this year' cause. Help him reach his 2001 goal
of 1,000 teddy bears! Jingle him at (631) 342-1691
for the details and help put a smile on these kids' faces!
I
have to run to get ready for my holiday soirees. I am going
to the RED DOOR for a day of beauty (that's Elizabeth Arden
for those guys and gals just coming out and needing some beauty
tips). Yes the full day is jam-packed with treatments and
eats, hence the jam. So everyone be well, be safe and hire
a limo or use a designated driver for New Year's Eve. Remember
to treat that driver to something special so you could have
party! I want to see all of you next year at any GLBT party
or fundraising event!
Mistletoe
smooches and Champagne kisses to everyone!
Priscilla!
